Workshop Hosted by Welsh National Opera at the Wales Millennium Centre - 29/06/2023

This week, Year 10 GCSE Music students at Cowbridge School attended a workshop hosted by Welsh National Opera at the Wales Millennium Centre.

Students worked alongside WNO animateur Aliyah Wiggins and singer-songwriter Eädyth Crawford to write music combining opera and soul. Students were also treated to a backstage tour of the Donald Gordon Theatre, where they learned about the wide range of roles involved behind the scenes in putting on a performance in a professional theatre, from hair, make-up, costume and wigs to the extensive lighting, set and stage management team!

Pupils are continuing to work on their musical ideas, and will use some of the processes they learned to support their GCSE composition and performances throughout Year 11 as well as support them as they continue their involvement in school productions.
