Outstanding GCSE Results 2019 - 23/08/2019

Year 11 students at Cowbridge Comprehensive School are today celebrating their much deserved success in this year's examinations.  Mrs Thomas, Headteacher said " We are all enormously proud of our students' achievements and delighted that individuals have, in many cases, exceeded their predictions. Our staff and parents have collectively high expectations, which inevitably contribute to our students' high performance. However, it is the endeavours of our students which have ultimately determined the excellent outcomes achieved in the GCSE examinations of 2019. Staff and students have worked together tirelessly to achieve their best and we are very pleased with their accomplishments"

We are delighted that 100% of our students achieved at least 5 GCSEs (grades A*-G), with 84% of students achieving 5 or more A*-C including English and mathematics, with significantly high numbers of students (47%) achieving A* / A grades in 5 or more GCSEs . 

Students have achieved exceptionally and consistently pleasing results across all GCSE subjects.  

Students are therefore best placed for embarking upon post-16 studies of their choice, and ultimately in strong positions to compete for the top places at universities and places of work, in the near future. We are looking forward to celebrating further with our students when they return in September and to welcoming new students joining us for the next stage of their academic journey. We look forward to ensuring that they have the best opportunities post-16 and are inspired to take the next steps in their academic journey with optimism! Well done to all!
