Welcome - Croeso!

Each year we are excited to welcome new students! This year, we are committed to ensuring that we adapt and innovate to ensure that we equip staff and students with the best facilities, resources and strategies, to survive and thrive!

Annually, we welcome approximately 240 new pupils into year 7, from more than 30 primary schools within the local area and beyond.

We understand that making an application may be a big decision, but our process is simple and our Achievement Team is here to support you each step of the way.

There are lots of considerations when deciding where to send your child to school, and different factors are important to different people. That’s why we aim to ensure that there are plenty of opportunities during the admission process to find out more about the school. As a starting point, we advise you to thoroughly read and listen to our Online Prospectus. You can also have an informal chat with our Achievement Team, requesting a visit to the school and having a tour and discussions with senior staff and the headteacher.

Admissions Process - First Steps

The first step is to take a look at our Online Prospectus. This will provide you with a fantastic opportunity to see what Cowbridge can offer to your child.

The next step is to attend our New Intake Evening which happens early in October. You will be able to find the date of this in the school calendar and on our social accounts. Please find below a Virtual New Intake Evening if you would like to view some information in advance. This will show presentations by our Headteacher, Mrs Thomas, as well as other senior staff who will be able to give an overview of key areas of our work, including how we will support and challenge your child to learn and flourish!

Admissions Process - Second step

To ensure that your child has an opportunity of accessing a place, it is important that you apply directly through the Vale of Glamorgan Council admissions page. Follow this Link for further information.

Once your child has secured a place, the Admissions Team will be in contact to ask you to complete an application form. This will enable the school to prepare for your child's arrival in September 2025 and also to provide us with your details so that we can notify you of any key events that are taking place as part of our transition programme.
